Blis Technologies

Blis Technologies Limited is a New Zealand biotechnology company that develops healthcare products based on strains of bacteria that produce Bacteriocin-Like Inhibitory Substances.
It sells its patented probiotics K12 & M18 as throat care products direct to market and as a food ingredient via distributor Stratum Nutrition.
==History==
Professor John Tagg of the Microbiology department at the University of Otago gathered and extensively catalogued a collection of more than 2000 BLIS producing bacteria over period of more than 30 years. BLIS Technologies Limited then acquired the rights to this unique collection of BLIS producing bacteria from the University of Otago in New Zealand and in July 2001, the company was listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange. In the time since its listing on the New Zealand Stock Exchange, the company has developed consumer products for throat health, halitosis (bad breath), complete body support, and immune stimulation.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=About Blis )
Blis Technologies has been hit by numerous delays in gaining regulatory approval that has slowed its product development and has to frequently raise new capital to cover on going financial losses.
In 2011, Blis took over the assets and brand names of Gourmet Ice Cream Company and now sells dairy products with probiotics in New Zealand on a small scale through its subsidiary Blis Functional Foods.
